Responsabilities:

In your capacity as Managing Director, you will oversee:

• Directing, advising, and supervising the EWAA group:
• Continue to be in charge of running the EWAA business.
• As the team’s senior member, you will be in charge of practice development, business development, product management, and spearheading team projects.
• Create a successful EWAA team with a wonderful culture and high standards in all aspects of the team’s work by working with the EWAA Directors and Team Leads.
• Possess good analytical and advisory skills as well as the capacity to synthesize information and convert it into deliverables and suggestions.
• Encourage skill development, information exchange, and career advancement by providing coaching, mentoring, and building on strengths for the EWAA Directors and Business Development Manager.
• Create a diverse, welcoming team and culture at thoughtbot.
• Draw in and keep excellent teammates
• Regularly meet one-on-one with team members and do quarterly reviews.
• Guaranteeing profitability and long-term expansion:
• Contribute to the definition of the annual revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
• Meet or surpass all objectives for growth, profitability, and revenue.
• Maintain EWAA profitability by collaborating closely with our global management team, EWAA Directors, and Team Leads to establish the essential elements of new growth prospects, provide a strategic perspective of the changing marketplace, and pinpoint business risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with thoughtbot’s business executives to create long-term plans and contribute to the business sustainability roadmap.
• Bring streamlined procedures within the organization Guidebook
• Revenue generation and business development:
• produce a sizeable amount of the EWAA’s yearly income
• Goals for own revenue growth of at least $4.8 million USD in 2024, with additional growth targets in subsequent years
• Create and keep a flowing pipeline of new business.
• Find, approach, discuss, and close new business development prospects that are not inbound.
• Be the main point of contact for business development for prospective EWAA customers and take ownership of the incoming lead process from intake to closing.
• Collaborate with other thoughtbot teams to promote solutions that span teams.
• Maintain pipeline projections and update CRM with the most recent, correct data on a regular basis.
• In monthly growth calls and quarterly updates, provide projections and the state of the pipeline.
• Compile competitive activity data and share insights with the marketing and business development teams. Develop new client program offerings. Identify opportunities for testing and eventual operationalization.
• Collaborate with the marketing and business development team to draw in and hold onto excellent clients that complement your team’s qualifications and passions.
• Collaborate with the marketing and business development teams to create business development strategies, such as customer and segment-based prioritization, marketing campaigns, event sponsorships, webinars, videos, blog posts, social media, talk tracks, talking points, sales collateral, decks, and contracts.
• Collaborations and civic leadership:
• Create and preserve connections with affiliated organizations
• Boost thoughtbot’s standing as a community leader
• Establish and preserve connections with influential people and prestigious organizations that aid our community.

Along with the expansion of the EWAA team and the agency, so too will your roles and responsibilities expand and change.

Requirements:

As Managing Director, you are qualified as follows:

• A track record of successfully luring in new customers and completing technology, consulting, or design agreements worth $250K to $5MM USD
• Familiarity with forecasting and budgeting
• Experience leading or supporting a technical team, designing software, consulting, or any combination of these
• A minimum of five years’ experience in management and supervision;
• Experienced and senior leadership abilities to support the hiring and development of a high-achieving team
• Capacity to oversee conflicting priorities in a hectic setting, lead or adjust to change, collaborate with other teams to accomplish goals, and use consultative problem-solving techniques.
