We are currently looking for a seasoned freelance IT support services specialist to join our team. As an IT assistance Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to our clients, ensuring their IT systems and solutions are working properly. This is a remote post open to candidates based in the UK.

Responsabilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues
    Diagnose and fix technological problems and escalate complex issues where appropriate
  • Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware systems
  • Set up and maintain user accounts and access controls
  • Perform regular system and security monitoring
  • Conduct system backups and disaster recovery processes
  • Establish and manage a knowledge base and technical documentation.
  • Give people instruction and direction on IT tools and systems.
  • Keep abreast of market developments and trends in IT support. Implement innovative workflows using the newest models and software that are upending the IT support sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in an IT support services specialist or related field
  • Strong technical background in network, hardware, and software systems; demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Understanding best practices for IT security
  • competent in setting up hardware and software systems

  • Preferred are industry certificates like Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), and CompTIA A+.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server Administration and Active Directory
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (such as Hyper-V and VMware)
  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework and procedures
  • Knowledge of remote desktop support tools and software
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Flexible schedule and availability
  • Basic familiarity of scripting languages is a plus
  • Experience with Mac OS, Linux, or mobile devices is a plus
  • Support on MDM (laptop and phone) and EDR, configuration and deployment
  • Writing employee device onboarding and offboarding procedures
  • Reviewing all current staff IT set up
  • Writing documentation that support the policies
  • Adjusting all of the IT-related policies
  • Supplying the SurrealDB team with IT assistance (both online and at the London office)
