As a member of the enthusiastic team creating Twinkl’s online Symbols material for parents and practitioners in the UK, you will be a part of a growing team. The goal of Twinkl Symbols is to assist kids and teens who struggle with speech, language, and communication issues as well as SEND. In order to enhance a child’s receptive and expressive language, give them access to the curriculum, and empower them to be active participants in daily life, it offers an app, an online web tool, and ready-made, downloadable resources that use carefully created symbols. You will spend most of your time collaborating with other content writers and editors on product priorities in order to provide our clients with the best instructor content available.

Responsabilities:

Among the things you could do each week are:

  • Producing and refining fresh materials to facilitate instruction and learning throughout the curriculum.
  • Addressing editorial criticism and cooperating with others to improve a resource to a high caliber.
  • Imparting writing skills to the group so that they may produce engaging and teacher-friendly tools.
  • Utilizing your personal expertise in SEND/SLCN and the primary curriculum, assist the team in developing their resource content.
  • Creating materials that address the demands of users and the most recent pedagogical approaches.
  • Getting together with fellow team members to brainstorm and generate fresh concepts.
  • Examining the Twinkl Symbols drawings and offering considerate criticism.
  • Conducting sessions with additional team members.
  • Ensuring that the content already on the website is current and fits the needs of the users by curating it.

Our ideal applicant will have a strong desire to give back to the education community and will be eager to educate people on their team about the curriculum and experiences of students with SEND/SLCN.

The work environment for this remote role is flexible, however it is expected that you will be available during the day for training, meetings, collaboration, and continuous professional development, especially during the first month of the employment. For at least two days a week, you would need to be accessible during our core hours (10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday).

Hours and remote work:

  • It is expected that team members who put in 15 hours a week will finish the majority of their work between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on at least two weekdays from Monday through Friday. It is essential that you are available during the day for training, meetings, teamwork, and continuous professional development, especially during the first month of your training.
  • You and your line manager can work out a flexible schedule for the remaining hours to accommodate your existing obligations and company requirements.
  • Essential for working remotely: You must have access to a dependable, fast internet connection with a minimum download speed of 6 Mbps and upload speed of 1 Mbps. We advise you to check using speedtest.net.

To be successful in the position, you’ll:

  • Possess confidence in delivering the primary curriculum and working with students who have SEND/SLCN; be an excellent communicator who enjoys working in a close-knit team; be able to independently manage your time and meet deadlines; be knowledgeable about the National Curriculum in detail and up to date; be ready to move between various IT platforms with ease, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and G Suite;
  • Possess a strong desire for ongoing professional development and an understanding of the particular demands and contemporary educational trends faced by the UK teaching community.

  • How to collaborate in “agile” teams, which enables you to swiftly adapt assignments to meet deadlines and solve difficulties;

  • How to use your teaching background to develop new products from conception to release;
  • How to utilize internal systems and Project Tracking software.

  • The qualified educators on our staff currently create, edit, and write content for Twinkl Symbols.
  • Our incredible in-house art and design teams work together every day to create the exquisite, well-polished resources that Twinkl is renowned for.

Requirements:

  • Possesses the right to work permanently in the United Kingdom.
  • Possesses a teaching credential from the UK (BA(Ed), PGCE, or similar).
  • Has experience working in therapeutic or educational settings with kids who have SEND/SLCN.
  • Is well-versed in the subjects included in the 2014 National Curriculum for Primary Education.
