Hi there, this is Brainscape. We are seeking a skilled Content Writer to become a member of our team. The job is entirely remote, contract-based, and offers plenty of room for advancement within our dynamic company. The hours of work per week start at 15 to 20!

With the help of the flashcard software Brainscape, students of all ages can simplify their studies into atomic concepts that are then represented on flashcards that they can study at any time, anywhere via the app or the internet.

In collaboration with our director of content marketing, you will create well-researched, engaging, and educational articles that appeal to Brainscape’s target student audience (generally college students and up), using a lighthearted and conversational tone and following SEO and EEAT guidelines.

Academics, habit formation, legislation, nursing, foreign languages, productivity, and life hacks are just a few examples of the wide range of topics that can be covered. Making the content pop without coming across as corny, believable without being dull, and enticing to click without being “clickbaity” is your aim.

Responsabilities:

  • Write 750–2,000 word articles that address specific topics that the Brainscape learning community finds interesting. Many of these topics fall into particular verticals, such as law, nursing, or medicine, but we also need articles on academic subjects that are intended for a wider audience of high school and college students.
  • To support content, conduct in-depth research using reputable websites, scholarly publications, and peer-reviewed literature. Additionally, assemble and format bibliographies with three to five references per article in accordance with academic standards.
  • Include accurate APA citations in the blog entries to bolster the information. The URLs for these citations will be hyperlinked within the article content using the best anchor text.
  • Make sure every piece is interesting, simple to read, and adheres to keyword norms for best search engine results.
  • Use royalty-free stock photos, funny GIFs from giphy.com, in-house AI images, or Brainscape’s collection of branded and product marketing images to add humor to your articles. It helps to know how to insert pictures and videos.
  • involvement on a regular basis in weekly meetings to coordinate plans and expectations with the direct manager and marketing team.
  • Help the director of content marketing (as well as the marketing team overall) with any upcoming projects. Examples of such tasks include creating YouTube metadata for newly uploaded videos, pulling social media-worthy excerpts from published articles and videos, coming up with original ideas, etc.

Requeriments:

  • Three or more years of copywriting experience, along with a solid portfolio showing proficiency in the creation of interesting, captivating material.
  • A bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent: Our ideal applicant has previous college experience and has benefited from the extra years of critical thinking and academic training.
  • The capacity to write in a witty and captivating manner. Our goal is to provide students with guidance that is not only easy to read and understand, but also highly inspiring and enjoyable.
  • The capacity to work independently on keywords and topics assigned.
  • Proficiency in English and the capacity to simplify difficult subjects into easily understood content.
  • Demonstrated ability to use CTAs and product mentions in an article without coming across as overly “salesy”
  • Solid understanding of SEO and strategic keyword placement.
  • A shown enthusiasm for cognitive science, adaptive learning, or self-optimization.
  • Proficiency with Sheets and Docs on Google.
  • Availability: Initially, 15 to 20 hours each week.

Restitution:

  • A reasonable hourly rate determined by expertise and credentials.
  • This is a contract job with the possibility of long-term employment.
